I've been reading and re-reading the Cthulu book to try to understand this mechanic, but I'm not sure how it works. When my player finds the tome, they can read it and learn enough to attune with a successful check; I get that. When they attune, they gain a dreadful insight which normally drags characters down a destructive path. They can make a wisdom save to resist the insight. Here is what I don't understand, when do they make the wisdom save? Do they make the save each time they are compelled to do something by the insight? Does the DM set the difficulty class for the wisdom save?
TIA!
