With mod's permission (thank you) I'd like to highlight this new adventure I have recently published on DM's Guild, called The Earl of Anders Point. It is the first proper adventure module I've written. Try it out and let me know what you think!
It's almost as if the passing centuries forgot about the village of Anders Point, nestled in the quiet Harran Valley. A long line of Earls have held sway over the place with what they call firm leadership, and what the braver of the villagers call cruelty. Latest among them, and perhaps the worst, is Earl Aarden. Most other Earls in the region have granted ever more freedoms and opportunities to their citizenry, but Aarden has persisted in maintaining a feudal system considered cruel and unnecessary in other parts of the Forgotten Realms. Punishment beatings, long periods in the stocks and worse are common in Anders Point.
The neighbouring village of Telraine and its rich farmland are controlled by Aarden’s long-standing rival, Earl Durwyn. Having heard that the villagers are unhappy labouring under Aarden’s yoke, Durwyn has sensed an opportunity to foment unrest, thereby expanding his own domains and unseating Aarden.
To date, though, those unfortunate enough to fall under Earl Aarden’s rule have lived a life of unrelieved drudgery, with nothing to distinguish one day from the next. Until yesterday, when Aarden’s son, Sigur, mysteriously disappeared, leaving only a scrap of clothing behind him.
In the village tavern there are whispers of foul play. A giant spider, known locally as Edderkop, has its lair not far from the village. To date, Edderkop has only preyed on livestock. If someone hostile to Aarden’s interests were to interfere in the balance of nature, however…
This adventure for fifth edition Dungeons and Dragons has been optimised for a party of four second-level characters, but can be adapted to suit any party operating between first and third level. It is designed to be easily integrated into an ongoing campaign.
