Since 2012, I have been dabbling in the little explored western continent of the Forgotten Realms world of Toril known as Maztica. I also enjoy exploring and defining some ancillary regions such as Anchorome to the north and Lopango to the south. While these regions are canonical, they have mostly been left alone - at least since 2nd edition in the early 1990s.
The name Maztica, in case you don’t know, is a portmanteau of the names “Maya” and “Aztec” and the entire continent is based off of the legends and stories of those particular cultures rather than Europe and specifically Tolkien. Anchorome has never seen publication other than its name and a small portion in the product FMQ1 City of Gold. Lopango, even less so. Anchorome is rumored to take inspiration from Indigenous American cultures and Lopango from the Inca.
After nearly a decade, I’d like to present my final and fully updated free campaign book which has everything from new classes to new magic and monsters. This 100 page book is a full campaign guide in the style of the SCAG, and I have over a dozen supplements linked to it which includes entire monstrous compendiums, adventures and a smattering of new rules.
At this point I have well over 10k downloads and I have no desire to stop the creation process, but I’d also like to open this up a little for collaboration. I would be honored to work with other budding authors and keep one consistent block of lore for the realm. Would any like to join?
I am definitely here for this. Being of Native American descent, I would *LOVE* to have a campaign set in a land similar to pre-colonization North America. There is a lot of culture and myth to mine for the setting. I ran a side quest using the ANC1 campaign guide, and we had a ton of fun with it.
