I am just wondering if anybody has found a 5e adaption of Weapons of Legacy, I have not attempted to do this just because of the sheer volume of work it would take.
Don't know if you've seen LegalKimchi's "DM Good Gaming"'s relatively new YouTube channel. But his video this week seems to speak really well to this topic, actually looks like it came out the day you posted, so coincidence! He talks about "legacy" weapons systems brewed from prior editions as part of a solution to what he sees as a sort of banality of magic weapons problem in the game:
I also had a laugh out loud moment at a reference to the Librum of Ineffable Damnation, but it's an aside from the thrust of the video which is very in line with this topic.
It's under an eight minute vid. His style as a video maker is evolving but he's entertaining, engaging, and does it in a very laid back chill but encouraging tone.
