Hello guys !! I'm the master of an campaign of 5e, and I'm in need of a an almost godlike villain, or really badass villain. I need a sheet of any monster that could fit into my idea of powerful monster with really nice mechanics.
I thought of Star Spawns and elder evils because they fit into my " Kill all mortals villain ideas " , and they fit into my Gith/Mind Flayer planar adventure.
I thought of them because, I could not think of things to do with the Gith Anarch power of creating things, that is really godlike, but I don't have any creativity for dealing with that, can you help me with that ??
And, what about some tips of how to create the background for a elder evil into my universe ??
My universe is raised with the equilibrium idea that the Gith vigil the Mind Flayers and that the mind flayers vigil the Star Spawns and Elders. I have mysterious gods that creates all life by accident too.
And, give me some advice on how can I proceed in my campaign, I have level 4 players and I'm at my 3rd chapter, they are currently going to investigate a murder in the night in the city that they are right now.
Well if you are going for Mind Flayers and the like, it seems to me like a Lovecraftian horror might work... One of the big bads could do it like Nyarlathotep or Yog-Sothoth. Of course there is Cthulhu himself, although I kinda feel like he is over-used and maybe too well-known for your purposes.
You could possibly go with a Mind Flayer Lich if you don't want to try and homebrew/adapt a Lovecraftian horror. You need Volo's Guide to see its statblock.

WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
Life is very busy unfortunately, gone from most Pbp's indefinitely. If you'd like to contact me, I am on Discord at GreatAxeblade#7595, always happy to chat :)
First in a number of campaigns I have actually linked the Ilithid and Mindflayers. Tweaked slightly over several worlds over the years I have had Mindflayers be an evolutionary step, swapping a hive mind and the ability to exist more easily out of water for the never dying ability. But I have also had them as an offshoot created by the Aboleths as ambassadors, spies and diplomats. The war with the gods then saw the ilithid split from their Aboleth masters but gave them the knowledge and desire to enslave their own races.
The other option is a little left field, but Githyanki have dragons and a clear link to Tiamat, in fact in the past I have run no a campaign based on the idea that Gith was in actual fact a physical manifestation of one of Tiamats heads personalities, created and sent to make the Gith a different t type of slave.
