Wondering if someone can explain this to me, as I'm a new DM, and I'm wondering if I'd missed something. If I"m not mistaken, isn't passive perception wisdom modifier plus 10? My level 2 clerical player's passive wisdom is showing up as 16. I've recreated this character separately, and that one also shows a passive perc of 16. What gives?
It's 10+your bonus to perception. If you aren't proficient, then it's just 10+your Wisdom modifier. If you are, it's 10+your Wisdom modifier+your proficiency bonus.
It's 10 + Wisdom modifier, but also plus your proficiency bonus if you're proficient in Perception. So passive Perception is 10 + you Perception bonus.

Thank you both. I was under the impression that it was straight wis mod for this specific item. Live and learn!
