So I am having a mental block right now, I am building a crypt encounter involving lots of undead, the cemetery and the crypt themselves are covered with shrines and iconography to the ravenqueen. In my notes I have written, the Raven queen shrines are desecrated (basically the people who have raised the dead have done this thinking they are preventing the raven queens protective magics). But for the life of me I can't think what would constitute the physical desecration of a ravenqueen shrine, any thought or ideas?
What do the shrines look like? Standard desecration is just hitting it with something heavy until it breaks. Could also cover it in something gross like fish guts. Basically, just be violently disrespectful. Desecration doesn't need to be specifically anti-thematic.
If you want to go overboard, you could animate writhing corpses around it. Basically entomb the shrines in undeath. Or slaughter a bunch of ravens.
I’d agree with memnosyne smashing stuff is always a good example of desecration. Smearing dirt/mud/paint/ other things but I’m trying not to be vulgar.
Burn things made of wood, tear up things made of fabric.
On fr wiki, it says her great enemy was orcus, so maybe throw some undead in there. Like skeletons or zombies chained to the walls.

A dead raven left on each shrine, that also then leads the investigation (someone is orchestrating these events l) so the party, once crypt is dealt with, can potentially go question poachers, or take keepers see if someone bought a job lot of dead ravens. That is going to be it :) Actually a dead raven with the eyes removed :)
One better. A zombified raven tethered to each shrine. The raven appears dead until an investigator comes within a certain proximity. Then it will flap itself right and attack the interloper. It has a chance of spreading Filth Fever. It cannot move more than 10ft from the shrine that it is tethered to. Blood and gore from the bird are artfully displayed on the shrine to form the vile circle of power animating the corvid corpse.

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
vulgarity is one of the best ways to desecrate something. piss, shit, maybe even phallic and vaguely sexual imagery scrawled over it in chalk or blood or something. chipped and broken statues would also work.
