I have been a long-time D&D player, but only recently have I started to DM. My group just completed the Dragons of Icespire Peak campaign and is ready for more adventure. The group is currently 6th level and pretty balanced. I am curious where I should take them or which book to look into? I also thought about having them grind a one-off campaign so they can get some magic items since they really don't have anything other than the few that were found in Icespire. what are some options I can consider for the next adventure?
Did you try the add-on adventures to Icespire? If not check out the DDB Store for more info on them as I think the build-up is to 11th at the end of the adventures.
Are the players willing to start new characters or continue on with existing ones?
As for published work you can run WATERDEEP: DUNGEON OF THE MAD MAGE, which starts off for a 5th level party. You could also look at some of the adventures from TALES OF THE YAWNING PORTAL and GHOSTS OF SALTMARSH those are anthology books that have adventures for your current party level.
The challenge you are running into is the WotC published adventure books, besides the ones I've listed, have characters start off at 1st level, but keep in mind you could scale up the encounters to match a 6th level party but it will be a lot of work.
I have not looked at the Add ons to Icespire, thank you for pointing those out. The group would like to continue using the characters they currently have. One of the players bought the book Tyranny of Dragons and asked if we could run that, but I told him, I would have to look through it first.

Tyranny of Dragons is two adventure books making up one storyline
Part 1: Hoard of the Dragon Queen -- 1st through 7th/8th level
Part 2: The Rise of Tiamat -- 8th through 15th.
So you run into the issue of keeping your 6th level character which may coast through most of the first book.
You can easily start up Storm kings thunder at level 5
All you have to do is have one of the NPCs send them to triboar to the east of Phandalan to check out gaint attacks. Have sister Garaele ask on behalf of the harpers, maybe offer them membership in the harpers.
Levels 1-5 in storm kings thunder is just kind of a way to power level them to 5 to start the real adventure, and you are better off starting with Dragons of icspire or Phandelver.
Cryovain actually makes an appearance in STK and lore wise flies down the where his is in DoIP after escaping giants in STK. The frost giant location would obviously not have cryovain but could still have his mate and their eggs. It might be cool to let your players see where the white dragon came from and how/why he ended up where he was when they killed him.
A good few of the published adventures have ‘filler’ prologues which only exist to level the characters up to 3 or 4, and to set a bit of tone. You could have them blitz through that stuff, or just cut it entirely.
Curse of Strahd, is one example of this, and the main hook to starting that adventure is more or less having them whisked away into his realm. Descent into Avernus is another option, I think, but I haven’t read that.
Otherwise, there are the compendium adventures, as mentioned, like Tales, Ghosts, and Candlekeep, though changing tracks to a chapter from those might be a bit awkward.

Thanks, Bodanger I like that idea a lot.
