I'm running my first campaign in the Forgotten Realms, and I need some help. The basic premise is that it's an Uncharted - or Indiana Jones-style treasure hunt where the party must locate the tomb of a nameless and infamous dragon-slayer thought lost to history. Inside his tomb rest his secret weapons, the Orbs of Dragonkind--a collection of massive gemstones which allow their users to find, attract, and control dragons of their corresponding types. After the events of Dragon Heist, the presence of a certain gold dragon has been made known to several unsavory groups who would love nothing more than to have the hoard for themselves, such as the Zhentarim and Bregan D'aerthe. Seeing as direct confrontation with the beast is unwise, the Gold Dragon Orb would allow anyone to possess the hoard and its guardian with little to no conflict. The location of the Slayer's Sepulcher, however, is something I cannot decide on--largely due to my personal unfamiliarity with the lands of Toril. I want to make this a massive adventure, but I need help constructing the path which this adventure can take. So, any ideas?
I think you could also reskin the final lost city in Rime of the Frost Maiden as the Dragon Slayer's tomb, that adventure also provides some potential rival and ally treasure hunters. I wouldn't say to play through the whole adventure, but use that last chapter as the last stop on a continent spanning game. Maybe including some stops in Chult for Tome of the Annhiliation adaptations. Another option would be reskin some encounters on the Planes of Avernus making Arkham the Cruel your BBEG already in possession of the Orb (and the Hand of Vecna, but that's a problem for the players not a part of the players solution to the dragon problem unless the party is feeling wreckless)..

I'm not super familiar with the geography of Toril off the top of my head; but here's a resource that might be helpful:

There's also a good number of official and fan-made maps floating around.
The Tomb of Annihilation adventure is set up as an Indiana Jones style quest for a secret tomb. You might just adapt that!
