Hello! So I'm new to d&d, I've played in a few pathfinder one shots and am currently playing in a 5e dnd game of my husband's, who is the DM. His game world is 20+ years old but since I never actually played with him and our friends before now, I don't really know his world so I'd hesitate to run a game in it, you know?
Anyways I'm looking for an existing campaign that would not only be good for me to DM as a noob, but also still be decent for gamers who have done it for 20-ish years (is that a tall order or what? Haha!).
My husband has lamented for *years* how he wishes he could PLAY the game, and not be dm, for once. His birthday is in April and we sort of prioritize experiences over things. I am going to tell him I'm going to DM a game for his birthday 🎂 🥳 I might not be good at it but at least we will have fun, eh?
I'm DMing for the first time this Friday and i'm doing the Lost Mines of Phandelver. It's the most common to run and play as it's in the starter set. I've played through most of it with another group as a player before our group had to stop playing for a while. It was an easy and fun one to play and having played it, I have an idea on how to run the parts I've played!
i also suggest lost mines of phandelver, it helps both new DMs and new players and has an easy explanation on how to string into another module or even continue into something of your own creation, lost mines was my first module to DM and honestly it REALLY helped me out
