I'm going through Tieflings and as everyone knows first level Baalzebub Tieflings know the Thaumaturgy cantrip through Legacy of Maladomini, Dispater Tiefling know it through Legacy of Dis and Zariel Tieflings know it through Legacy of Avernus... But so does every Tiefling through Infernal Legacy.
Maybe players want to get that 2nd level Ray of Sickness or 5th level Crown of Madness (Baalzebub). Or maybe Searing Smite and Branding Smite is the edge the fighter is looking for without going Paladin (Zariel) What would you do to make that first level cantrip worth the investment?
I'm thinking of just giving them another cantrip, no point in having two Thaumaturgy cantrips.
Infestation for Baalzebub Tieflings, because they seem to be all about corruption.
Minor Illusion for Dispater Tieflings, because they seem to be all about DISception.
Green Flame Blade for Zariel Tieflings, because they seem to like causing pain.
What are your thoughts on the different Tieflings?
Edit: Edited to add Dispater, overlooked that one.
The specific legacies replace the generic 'Infernal Legacy'. Fierna Tieflings don't get friendsandthaumaturgy, they only get friends. Same for the leveled spells.
In addition, if your campaign uses by-the-book ASIs, each type of tiefling gets a different +1 bump in addition to their +2 CHA, so that can factor into the choice as well

Active characters:
Carric Aquissar, elven wannabe artist in his deconstructionist period (Archfey warlock) Lan Kidogo, mapach archaeologist and treasure hunter (Knowledge cleric) Mardan Ferres, elven private investigator obsessed with that one unsolved murder (Assassin rogue) Xhekhetiel, halfling survivor of a Betrayer Gods cult (Runechild sorcerer/fighter)
Anton is correct. You are doing addition when you should be doing replacement.
In addition there is a S.C.A.G. variant that gets wings and a fly speed of 30 instead of Infernal Legacy. No spells at all. (Note their wings do not work when they wear heavy armor).

AH, that would explain it. I noted the stat changes. Variant I did change the Infernal Legacy. Thanks for the heads up.
