Hi, I'm running an encounter in Tomb of Annihilation where Acereak's hag coven cloned the characters at a lower level, and am wondering how I should classify said clones: As humanoids, undead, or constructs.
I can't say for sure because I've never run ToA. However, I can offer that if the hags used the spell Clone to clone the characters, the clones have the same creature type as the characters that they were made from (probably humanoid). Similarly, if the hags used the spell Simulacrum, the clones are constructs like the spell says.
If it's not from a spell and isn't specified in the ToA module, I'd make a judgment call for their creature type. Consider the context of the clones, and use that information to decide what type to use. If you are completely in doubt, lean toward the original character's type.

Panda-wat (I hate my username) is somehow convinced that he is objectively right about everything D&D related even though he obviously is not. Considering that, he'd probably make a great D&D youtuber.

Up to you. The most relevant spells are clone and simulacrum, one of which is the same type as the original, the other of which is a construct, but if you're using a custom magical effect it's whatever type you want (I would probably not go with undead, but fey or fiend seem plausible).

Orange Juice!
I would guess Humanoids
