I am currently working on my thesis in game development, on the subject of Dungeons & Dragons and I need some help! I have created a survey intended for people who have at one point in time tried the role of Dungeon Master who also have written their own adventure(s).
I am trying to asses how much time is spent on separate tasks during the creation of a whole adventure from start to finish and then test available tools that can help a DM shorten the time spent on those tasks to see how much time can be saved and how good a job those tools do!
The survey takes between 10 - 15 minutes to answer and it will help me get information that I need for my paper!
I'm finding the wording to be a bit confusing. You use the word adventure a lot when asking about prep time, but I don't know if you're talking about individual sessions or a whole campaign w/ world building. Could I get some clarification?
I understand the confusion, I am referring to a whole campaign including world building and play sessions! Many have misunderstood this previously but its all about how you yourself perceive it and the statistics I'm most in need of is time spent on the different tasks (NPCs, Encounters, Locations and Quests) so as to be able to measure how much time is spent and how much time that could be saved!
Thank you so much for saying so, I have reworked the questions many times and asked as many DMs I could to help me with the wording and definitions. I will see what I can do with the results and the paper, I would very much like to share it with those who have been kind enough to help me with this! I was convinced that I never would get enough participants but I am not closing in on the minimum required number so I am very grateful to all of you!
I am now only a few responses left from having the minimum required amount to continue my work! Please feel free to fill out the survey if you have not done it yet! It would help me out alot!

Righteous, done.

This is a very well-written survey and a nice chance to reflect on my own DMing methods. Thanks!
When you get some results, you should post a summary here (or link to the paper). I imagine the data will be interesting.
