Below is the link to a post I created explaining why the players are going there.
I've never run anything in the Fey realm before. I have no idea about the lore or any of its classic characteristics. I want to use faeries, pixies, maybe a Satyr, and definetely some wil o wisps.
I need some advice on how to work in some combat, but I mostly need help with creating some non-combat encounters in the Fey realm.
Have y'all run anything in the Fey realm? Are there any resources or experiences that you could share?
I was thinking the party would teleport into a hedge maze that they have to find their way out of.
H, tried following the link but it doesn’t seem to work.
the fey realm is a lot of mischief and misdirection. There’s two courts the seelie and unseelie and a lot of court intrigue between them. In the fey realm there’s the rules of hospitality which could make for some great non combat encounters. There’s also fey contracts which are similar to demonic ones, but since fey don’t necessarily value money an npc may help the party in exchange for there ability to laugh which could also create some interesting encounters
as for monsters, remember goblinoids are also fet so you can get some standard encounters with those
for resources you may want to look at the wild beyond the witchlight adventure book, there’s also resources on the dm guild
While I feel like this is a cheap answer on my part I did a Google search on "5e fey realm encounters" & "5e fey realm non-combat encounters," and there is a slew of encounter ideas and tables for the Fey realm that might be worth checking out.
That should be a link to a thread here about fey etiquette. I have found a lot of useful things on there and have put some ideas there that I have about the feywild.
