So as I've mentioned before I run a group through a college student disability program. Recently a new student joined who has some D&D experience and would like to join our group. That's not a problem. What is a problem is due to a few last minute cancelations of sessions we're behind...and the party is currently in Tither wrapping up that chapter of Wild Beyond The Witchlight.
Since Prismeer is technically on another plane, I'm not sure the best way to write this new player into the campaign and I don't want to keep him waiting too long to join since, I was hoping Wild would be wrapped up before any new students joined the table. If you were in my position and had to consider writing a character in while the party is in Prismeer, how would you do it? IF it can be done at all. If it can't be done, we'll either have to try and hurry the campaign along or scrap it and start a brand new one (I'd like to avoid the latter though).
Without looking at the adventure (let me know if I should, I have it here on DDB) maybe they can be found tied up by Faeries for stumbling into the realm by accident?

Oooh that might work. The party is currently on the boss fight of Tither and ready to move on to the next chapter. There's gonna be three weeks of no D&D due to students being out of town for summer break and then I'll be out of town at a convention with some friends the weekend after, so when the new students come to the program around August, I can probably get that set up by the end of July.
If your players haven't fought Skabatha Nightshade, I would say that having the new players character be a prisoner of the hag is probably the easiest way to incorporate them into the game. If the players haven't gone to Little Oak but plan to, the character could be there trying to find their way home from Prismeer, and tagging along with the party would make perfect sense.

They're actually going to fight Skabatha at the start of next session. After the recap we're going straight into initiative. But they haven't explored the entirety of Loomlurch so there could be a prisoner somewhere they haven't been to yet. I'm gonna be meeting with the new player and asking him how he'd like to be written in regardless, so these ideas are just in case he wants some suggestions.
In Stories and Tales, Fairy circles of mushrooms or flowers, standing stones, even taking a nap on certain forest clearings at certain times, or simply entering an earth hole/cave, or diving in a pond can spirit you away to a similar place in a fae realm.

Okay, cool. Good luck with school and the adventure. I’m making a return part time and my guts are either frozen or squirming :p
Obviously post more if you need any kind of help.
