I've tried googling it but haven't found any results. Does anyone know if there was a name, either in 5e or in real-life history, for people who claimed to be part of a guild they weren't in? If not does anyone have any ideas? Preferably a single-word title since my party are going to be called this probably a few times and "Frauds wrongfully claiming membership of *insert Guild here*" doesn't exactly role off the tongue.
Name decided. Guild-Faux. Thanks for all the suggestions.
Guild-Mag (from Magsman) was good but sounds a bit to close to Guild Mage.
Thank for the laugh. It's actually a kind of Jack-of-all-Trades place with a focus on relief aid. They have adventures who hunt monsters (both beast and human) and collect materials during quests, craftsmen who use those materials to make various items, and merchants who sell both materials and crafted items to add money to a guild fund that is used to provide relief and supplies wherever they're needed, such as taking provisions and medical supplies to a place effected by an earthquake.
Kind of like a medieval Red Cross, from what little I actually know about the Red Cross, plus dealing with monster attacks and such. Does that make sense?
Beliefs:
Everyone deserves a helping hand when in need.
Those who are able to lend aid have a divine duty to do so.
Tyrants and others who abuse their authority can not be ignored.
"In historical contexts, people who falsely claimed to be part of a guild or another organization might have been referred to as "charlatans," "impostors," "pretenders," or "quacks," depending on the specific circumstances and the nature of their deception. These terms were used to describe individuals who pretended to possess certain skills, qualifications, or affiliations they did not actually have."

A trip to my good old friend Wordhippo gave a lot of interesting suggestions. Here are my top picks:
Ringer, Pretender, Hoax, Bilker, Magsman, Huckster, and Pettifogger!
Here's hoping it tickles your imagination :)
Imposter, scammer, hoodlum, racketeer, swindler, charlatan, con-artist, and my favorite: mountebank.
If it's a crafter's guild, "Impost-artisans!"
