I'm currently running Out of the Abyss and I'm stuck on what to do with Deepking Horgar. I feel like gaining an audience with him is inevitable after all the things the party has done for Graklestugh, stopping a rampaging giant, help the keepers of the flame get the egg back, expose and stop a derro plot to overthrow the king, ect. There is just so little written about the king though. All it says in development is he tells the party the drow are behind it, with all the players have seen up to this point it seems likely that they would just excuse this as dwarf\elf politics. I don't really wanna omit it but I'm not sure how to expand on it, or make it meaningful.
I'm having him charmed by Graz'zt, he's making irrational judgments and laws, and the few non-mad clan lords want to PCs to kill him so they can get the city back to work. Meanwhile, the derro have the egg and are going to use it in a ritual to give Themberclaud an extra head and be driving mad by Demogorgon. The plan is to have the dragon and Demogorgon show up while the PCs are trying to save the King from Graz'zt's charm, so they won't have to die fighting too powerful a villain. Demo will take Graz'zt's attention, and the PCs can run for their lives or kill the dragon, or something. We'll see...
