I have not tried it myself, though I've seen some other people try it, and it has not been a particularly good experience for them. It seems like it takes a lot of effort to make anything work well and it should probably only be used as a last resort.
There is a Roll20 mobile app, but it's just for managing character sheets and doesn't display the VTT; it's more intended for people playing in person with the VTT displayed on a big TV or a fancy table screen or something.

Does it work well enough to be viable?
Can they navigate the map and drag their character around, and pick their actions?
Or do they have to use a laptop or pc etc.
