So the party I'm DMing for is about to encounter the boss of a cave they've been exploring. The boss is a cybernetic bugbear who they defeated before, and his 5 minions who were made to resemble the party. The tone of the campaign is somewhat silly, but I do my best to implement serious moments from time to time.
Tabletop audio does wonders truly, its free and it is amazing. I have a playlist that i use for my dark fantasy campaign and it is great. They have loads of sci-fi stuff that i've not checked on much but i can almost guarantee that they will have something that suits your tastes. :)

Imagine a sorcerer riding a catoblepas into an epic battle to the last minute of black-heart by two steps from hell.
I'm not a huge JRPG fan, but Final Fantasy has some of the best battle music in the business in my opinion. For your vibe "Battle on the Big Bridge" from FFV might work for you.
Because of the cybernetic aspect and the minions, just what I interpret as the overall theme of the encounter, I would consider something that sounds more like a machine. If video game music is what you're going for, maybe try "Kraken Of The Seas" from the RPG EarthBound released for the SNES. I'll think about some real-world instrumental music. But it's up to you.

“The past never changes—and from what I can see, neither does the future.”
Um, sometimes I just put some metal, hard rock, techno, just depends on the battle. If you listen to these genres, it's especially easy to find a song that fits your vibe. Plus it's hilarious because occasionally one of my players starts belting the song out and head-banging.

Best quote from a book ever: "If you love with your eyes, death is forever. If you love with your heart, there is no such thing as parting."- Jonah Cook, Ascendant, Songs of Chaos by Michael R. Miller. Highly recommend

Thank you for the song Ideas, everyone. I got some really great stuff here, so again, thank you all
The Phish song "Maggie's Revenge" might also fit what I said earlier

"War Machines" by Volker Bertelmann from All Quiet On The Western Front is a dark-sounding song that might work.
