Hello I am a dm in training and I need lots of good tips because I am not very good at doing it but I have went through a lot of forums so I am okay but I want to be better.
Every DM is different and finding what works for you takes experience, maybe try to test out different things on players whom are patient.
There are a lot of good tips and tricks for how to be a good DM out on the web, both videos and forums.
Be honest with your players, it is a game of cooperation after all. I would also give the Dungeon Master Guide 2024 a read, as it has many great examples, tips, and tricks.
I'm just going to say this to get it out of the way... Read the Dungeon Master's Guide, there is so much helpful information in there, and the 2024 DMG is laid out so much better than the 2014 version!
I would start with some YouTube videos, there are a LOT of great content creators, but I'm not sure of your taste. I'd start with a Search for videos on Tips for new DMs, How to Start DMing, etc.
Also, they are time consuming, but watching streams (via YouTube or other means) of other DMs do their thing gives a good range of styles. Just make sure you don't fall in the traps of comparing yourself to professional DMs as you will ALWAYS feel inadequate.
Additionally, The style of gameplay that you will be running will influence how you DM as well; In-Person with static Battlemaps and Minis, In-Person with a Digital BattleMap, Remote via VTT, etc.
Cheers!

Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
