With the release of the Wayfinder's Guid to Eberron, I've been been kicking around the idea of running a campaign in and around the Mournlands. They have always fascinated me, but I'm not totally sure where to start. I could use some help with a few things:
Ideas for stories, adventures, or encounters in or around the Mournlands.
References to other novels or books set in the Mournlands.
Interesting ideas for Warforged NPCs.
As part of such a campaign, I was also thinking of having all the characters be Warforged, and starting in the Mournlands itself. Perhaps somehow they survived or were reactivated after some long past battle.
Could it work to have an entire party of Warforged?
What cool characters or concepts might you come up with for such a party?
And what could a party of Warforged do that others might not be able to. For example, explore the bottom of a lake, or travel non-stop without sleep.
Anyway, I'm basically seeking ideas and inspiration. So if you have any, or can point me to any great resources, I'd love to hear...
Something you could do is make the Lord of Blades your primary NPC. Maybe the party are warforged that want to help him build a city for warforged only?
Or perhaps they are on a pilgrimage to find the Lord of Blades.
Maybe they have been contracted by House Cannith to go to one of the many forges left behind and recover some artifact, and they hired the warforged specifically because other bands of adventurers were killed by the Lord of Blades.
--- I just like the Lord of Blades quite a bit.

You have any good resources or suggestions for getting more information on the Lord of Blades. Yes, I was imagining him as a central NPC trying to build a city (or nation) of warforged. Perhaps is most important quest is to find a creation forge to keep his race going. No one knows how long warforge live. And any race needs a way to reproduce.
