Hi folks, I am sorry if this is the wrong thread. I have been asked to run a dungeon for my nephew and his daughter at the end of November. He and I would dearly like her to really get into it. So here is the rub; I haven't really played since I was a student in the early 80s although did some dungeons for him when he was young. He is now in his 40's and his daughter is now 13. So I have got the 2024 editions of the three guides, yes, they are different to what I remember ,as you may guess. Now I am looking for a good dungeon to get her addicted so a good Saturday afternoon and evening run and hopefully a Sunday morning as well. I think Level 1 for her, he could handle a level 2 and also have a tag along charcter so if one should die they don't lose heart. Any advice on a dungeon that would be a really jolly slug fest with some traps and thinking, neither are stupid, would be graet. Thanks
I'd recommend Dragon of IceSpire Peak. It is quite sandboxed and has a simple story to it. It also has support for sidekicks which help balance out encounters if you need to add an extra NPC to aid the player characters on their adventure.
I would just get the new starter set "Heroes of the Borderlands". It will be easy for you and them to pick up the new rules and its so much fun with all the bits and components.

DO NOT do Icespire. It is EXTREMELY unbalanced. There's a third-level encounter where the party has to fight a dozen orcs and 2 ogres.
