I’m running a nautical sandbox campaign on discord with some friends and have been wanting to set the vibe and kill dead air with some background music. The problem I’ve ran into is that discord is pretty limiting in that regard, I can run YouTube as an activity in the discord app but it doesn’t allow a sign in and it is FULL of ads that play every few minutes. I’ve tried streaming YouTube in a window but the video and audio freeze when I switch to the vtt window for the campaign. I’ve also tried a soundboard to no avail as the audio quality just isn’t worth the hassle. I’m perplexed, there has to be a DM on here that uses music on discord. Any ideas?
KenkuFM is made by the excellent folks over at Owlbear Rodeo. It can be found at https://www.kenku.fm/
I personally have Youtube Premium largely because I watch a fair amount of Youtube and when combined with the music that comes with it - well the price is better than say Spotify.
Kenku allows you to either have a soundboard and pull from your hard drive, or to have browsers, or even both. It really is an excellent tool (and yes you can sign into your YT account in Kenku).
