I just started a West Marches style campaign and have run into a bit of a problem: Player cap on DnDBeyond campaigns. I can understand the reasoning behind this, but I also have run into a bit of an issue in regards to this: It makes running this type of game much more difficult.
Right now we are a small group (20), but the issue is because of the 12 limit player per campaign, I have some players in one campaign and other players in another campaign. And when it is time to run a session, players are in two different groups, meaning they can't join the same VTT.
One idea I have is to create new campaigns for every new session, have the players copy their characters over to that campaign, run it, then leave it and then constantly create new campaigns over and over just so they can all be part of the same group/VTT. But that just seems tedious.
Besides using other websites/resources, does anyone have any ideas on how I can deal with this small, but annoying issue?
