I’m playing the Drakkenheim campaign with some friends, and my dm said my horse (summon steed) got contaminated and will maintain that contamination even after unsummoning and resummoning it, including its other forms (i.e I summon an Elk, or some other steed, it will still have the defects)
Another party member agrees with me that this seems illogical and unfair. My Dm is awesome, but he’s a bit chaotic sometimes. Should I argue against this decision? 10.0.0.0.1
Also this is like my first post in the sub so please be nice to me :)
The Find Steed spell summons an creature that is stated as being a fey, fiend or celestial similiar to a Find Familiar spell. It's been discussed on the Drakkenheim Discord a few times but the answer from the Dungeon Dudes (backed up by their live play) is that familiars don't get impacted by the Delerium so I assume a Find Steed would work the same way. Having said that the DM is the final arbitrator of rules at their table so if they decide familiars do get contamination then you can argue it but so long as they're consistent it's their choice.
I have to agree with Cunning Smile. If the DM decides that this is how it is going to work, then maybe there is a good reason for it. You said he is an awesome DM, so maybe he knows exactly why he is doing this. Maybe he has an idea or a plan that could turn out to be really cool. On the other hand, maybe he just made a mistake or misremembered something.
So, don't argue against it but you can ask if it applies to all familiars.
