In the campaign I'm planning there is a cave with two rouge mindflayers and I need some puzzles and traps. Please help. It is for 5 level 3s. Yes I know two mindflayers is too had for level 3s.
I'd suggest something mentally related-illusions and that sort of thing. Perhaps when they open a trapped door, they are flung to their worst memory and must relive it without breaking down to pass through.
You could also have areas that need telekinesis or creativity to pass. For example, their could be an area where the mindflayers would telekinesis on a metal platform and lift themselves up, but the PCs have to use ropes and pulleys to move it.
