So, the first phase of my final boss is defined by them breaking magical rules. Flipping schools if magic on their head and being really creative with schools of magic (trapping someone in an abjuration bubble, making them think the whole fight is an illusion, etc.) however, I still need forbidden/creative/unexpected uses for divination, enchantment, and transmutation.
Enchantment - enchant yourself to make you feel super confident in your own abilities to enable you to do things you couldn't before - e.g. cartoon logic that allows you to walk over an open chasm as long as you believe you can do so, or peter-pan logic that you can fly if you believe really hard.
Enchantment - enchant the enemy to be so depressed they give up fighting (See Marvin the Miserable Robot & the Empathy gun in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy).
Enchantment - enchant a passive or neutral creature into cute-ness aggression so they run around trying to hug people to death.
Divination - divine an enemy's most embarrassing or shameful secret and use it against them.
Divination - cause an enemy to see a possible future where they die in a very specific way - e.g. being decapitated by one particular enemy in the current combat - attacks that fit the prophecy deal extra damage to them.
Divination - shift an enemy's vision backwards in time so they can't see what is actually going on now, or where people are currently.
Transmutation - transform someone's armour into lead (reduce movement and DisAdv on attacks).
Transmutation - transform humanoids into animated objects (or vice versa transform a sentient / animated object into a humanoid)
Transmutation - transform pets / animals into people.
Divination - showing visions of the future that are so horrifying and debilitating they take the target out of the fight
Transmutation - targeting the player's limbs and transforming them into something on a table: marble blocks, jello, tentacles, etc.
Enchantment - convince a character that they are madly in love with a different character and forcing them to defend that character with their body and life.
