Although I've found that length depends SO MUCH on the players. I've got a group that loves to explore every nook and cranny of the world. They want side quests, they investigate every shop and NPC, and chase down every thing scary or haunted or magical. We've been playing our current campaign since February and the furthest they've gotten is the village cemetery.
But, they're having fun! So our campaign is loaded down with more side quests than Baldur's Gate. I'm seriously and genuinely considering creating a side quest journal for them. I long ago ditched my plan to introduce a ticking clock to the campaign, because the game they want to play is one where they can chase down everything that seems interesting. (I still use ticking clocks situationally, to prevent rest creep.)
So yeah, fifteen sessions in one village? I feel that.
