I started DMing recently and realized I needed a simple tool to keep track of combat. We usually play short 1–2 hour sessions, so sometimes a battle continues into the next session, and keeping track of initiative, HP, and status effects can get surprisingly messy.
Since I’m a developer, I decided to build my own web tool for it: DnD Gate.
One feature I’ve found particularly useful is being able to group multiple enemies of the same type into a single initiative card — for example, having a bunch of goblins together instead of managing 6 separate cards.
I’m still actively developing it, so I’d really appreciate feedback from other DMs. What works, what’s annoying, what’s missing, or what would make you actually want to use it in your games.
Thanks for taking a look!
