Running Ghosts of Saltmarsh

Hi there, Midgardians!

I'm reading Ghosts of Saltmarsh at the moment, and I'm loving it. I've just finished The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh and I really enjoyed it.

My idea is to create a full campaign (1-12), using all the adventures within the book. Have you got any advices in order to run this setting?

Yes; go to the r/GhostsofSaltmarsh subreddit.  Tons of information for making it into a campaign, different ideas for who/what the BBEG should be, what setting, etc., etc., etc.  Very valuable source of information.

I ran Ghosts of Saltmarsh and Tales from the Yawning Portal together as a campaign. I slowed the leveling at times so I could interleave the adventures appropriately. Later on, the TftYP adventures can fill or supplement the leveling in the GoS adventures. 

I added content afterwards to extend the campaign to level 20. 

I used the World of Greyhawk maps since they are available online and the locations from Saltmarsh are already on the maps since that is where the adventures were originally set. Also, 6 out of 7 of the TftYP were also originally set in Greyhawk though much more geographically distributed. However, there are lots of good options for placement that would tie into GoS. 

The map below shows the city of Saltmarsh and the locations of several of the adventures. Saltmarsh is on the coast and you have to zoom the below map to find it.
