So, my group are starting to finally get the hang of D&D, which is great to see, and I'm currently planning the next few adventures for them, making them much more dangerous and rewarding. The group I play with aren't that combat-inclined, they instead like puzzles and riddles and tasks that require roleplaying with NPCs.
So, just a general question really to other DMs: what types of puzzles and tasks do you tend to use in your dungeons that have proven enjoyable for your players?
I am not used to make puzzles in that way, right now. But i use tasks, they need keys or tools to make through certain parts of the dungeon, or look for info in some concern.
Adding puzzles and combat scenarios can definitely be rewarding. I have about two dozen puzzle ideas for D&D on my YouTube channel. Check it out... I hope you find it helpful...
