I fully expect to see this site becoming WoTC's solution to Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds. But until then can I build custom encounters and adventures? I am looking for a digital method to track combat and such. Nothing as complex as fantasy grounds but something easier then Roll20. For some reason roll 20 and me don't get along. There are some basic tools out there that work great on android but I would like to use a PC. When I create a campaign on this site all it let's me do is add notes. Am I missing something? Is there a function I don't see to make encounters and add all the digital content I own?
Combat/encounter tracker is in the works according to their year end video. Other options are out there, but a decent amount cost money. I didn't really want to pay for something we might be getting here, so I started using "Improved Initiative" for my encounters. Has a decent amount of 5e monsters loaded, with the ability to add them in yourself. I use a laptop when I DM so I usually just track HP in it and flip over to Dndbeyond for their combat info if needed. It also has a player view that your players can pull in their own browser if they use laptops or tablets/phones. For maps there is a program you can install called "Combat Manager" that is designed for pathfinder but I like the map software on it. (I use a TV laid flat on the table with minis)
There are also a couple Chrome extensions for DnDBeyond that let you do extra stuff, but I haven't used those.
If you go to the D&D Beyond feedback forum they just added an encounter builder survey. Looks like they are actively working on it.

A combat tracker is expected next year. Can't say exactly when.
