My birthday is coming up and I wanted to run a fun game that anyone could jump into and may get some of my friends interested in the game.
I think a Battle Royale would be a quick way to get them interested. I thought a good hook would be to allow them to take one item from each rarity tier (Legendary, Very Rare, Rare, etc...) and 10th level characters and through them into a gladiator style match that Mercer runs for his Battle Royales.
I want to have at least 3 characters ready for players who don't/can't create their own. What are some ideas you guys have for some awesome fighters to through in?
Also any item combinations I should avoid/try. I am sure there are munchkin tactics with these items that could make them invincible, but I would also like some fun things to happen, like the deck of many things.
Any PC based off Keyleth and Grog will likely do the best. Wizards and sorcerers are on the fence.
A rogue should just go home in defeat unless they can actually hide which is going to be hard in a battle royal setting. ( Granted if you can build toward Vax they would stand a fighting chance.)
I'd say avoid a Vex build unless you chose non animal companion focused option.

10th Level Sorcerer! Maybe a Wizard. I'll have to post some good ideas later.
I can't do spoilers but keep in mind that Keyleth at level 17 is essentially unbeatable baring external factors.
Looking forward to it.

Resilient Spehere can grant spellcasters immunity for 10 rounds which is something to watch out for.
