I've got some players closing in on floor 6, the Lost Level, and while reviewing the floor, I ran across something that doesn't seem to match up correctly, or at least in a way I can understand.
The information blurb for area 33a mentions that the breakaway floor trap triggers, releasing the zombie bulette, when all four statues block the four exits. However, the information for the area never seems to mention that the statues can move, or why a party or other mechanism would even move them from their alcoves in the north side of the room to block all four exits and trap themselves in the room. Does anyone have any insight on this?

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
I believe that there is missing information on the statues. The floor in 33a isn't a trap to fall into. It is a breakaway floor to allow the monster to come up. If the characters walk on it they don't fall in because it is filled with earth/dirt per the description. I think it should be that when the characters enter the room, the statues shift to cover the exits, then the monster comes up through the breakaway floor.

That's how I would imagine it to go, but I don't see anything about the statues moving on their own.
