I just started playing as DM with the 5th edition. So far, it has been a success. My campaign is set in Eberron. I noticed that the 5th edition guide seems to be missing a lot of information with respect to the books for the older editions. What should I get, to have a complete picture of this world? Is there any idea of what is going to be published with the 5th edition, on Eberron? Thanks! :-)
Assuming you own the books from the way you phrased your statement, no reason you can't just reference those books. Or make up your own stuff. Keith always seemed pretty adamant on the concept of 'it's YOUR Eberron, do what you want with it', which is really how I think people should treat all 'official' settings. Canon or no, if you don't like it, change it.
My question is, will the "Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron" go away since it seems like most of the data will be duplicated in the new book, or will the content it contains be updated with the new book being an expansion of it's information?

Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron will definitely stay, that is for sure.
The player options (the races) will be updated even if you don't buy the upcoming book. In other words, you will always have the most up-to-date version of the playable options.

That's great! I hope they don't change to much, I like the races as they stand.
I hope wotc does a few adventures or some other source material for Eberron, instead of leaving it hanging like Ravnica
One of the new things for the upcoming book is that it'll include a beginner campaign, as well as more lore. WGtE had some lore, but most of it focused on Sharn, so even if the racial/class mechanics overlap, I'm still considering getting the new book when it comes out.

Right on time: WotC has announced the new Eberron book, coming in November.

Wow, thanks!
