I want to scale published maps to actual size (1"grid squares) and print them on 8.5" by 11" paper to arrange and glue onto a backing material. Has anyone done this? Can you orovide any guidance?
I use PosteRazor. It took a while to find the correct adjustments, but I believe I finally figured it out.
Paper Forment: Landscape
Borders: 0"
Overlapping Size: 0.4 in for width and height
adjust size in percentage until you get 8.5x11 squares. If it is not correct just back up and adjust %. For TOA Yellyark 61% works. It printed on 18 sheets (6x3)
Then when you go to print pick borderless plain paper, with the amount of extension the second from the left.
Use Photoshop or Gimp (gimp is free). Both programs have accurate rulers you can use, just make sure that they are set to inches. Open a new file with the standard paper size. (8.5x11). Drop your image several times as a new layer each time and scale each one to fit correctly. Save several JPGs (each of a different layer. You will need to only have active the layer you are saving each time. Print each image and your done. Its actually very easy.

Photoshop, gimp.. Office Max, office Depot. Or print at home. Pretty easy once you find what works for you.
https://rasterbator.net/ is what I use to scale maps to the size I want to print them at.

I print on cardstock.
I would just crop the map into your desired segments and print them off in the desired scale. Good luck!
