So, I know this has been asked other places but I am pulling from a few different sources here. When haste is cast on a character who has the Extra Attack Feature such as a 5th level Paladin does that mean they can have access to 3 or 4 attacks? The spell says "one weapon attack only" but it is an attack action and therefore the use of Extra Attack could be seen to give an additional attack. Thoughts?
The spell says "one weapon attack only" specifically because it is written knowing that Extra Attack exists and is saying "No, not all the attacks you'd normally make with an attack action - just one"
So the 5th level paladin under the effects of the spell would have 3 total attacks - 2 for their Extra Attack feature and their Attack action, and 1 from haste.

Thank you good Sir!
