TLDR: In Ghost of Saltmarsh campaign, Players did a random-event task (from Manistrad Copperlocks) which consisted of killing undead. I gave the party 2 low-level magic items, but they are expecting payment from Manistrad Coperlock, and I do not know how much to give.
-------------
Details: While running the Ghost of Saltmarsh campain, my players asked around for rumors and ended up talking to Manistrad Coperlocks at the Wicker Goat. I rolled a random event (see Chapter1:Saltmarsh > Locations in Saltmarsh > 3. Wicker Goat) and rolled a 6, which gives "Locate the source of zombies and skeletons that have been sighted in the mines recently."
My party has 2 players that really hate undead, so of course they went there and I had time to improvise a mini-dungeon for four level 4 players, and even added some loot (Candle of the Deep and Amulet of Clockwork). Now they are expecting payment from Manistrad, which makes sense, but I am not sure of how much gold to give the party.
The only information regarding downtime activities in the book is as follows:
"For each week of employment, you earn the coin needed to sustain a modest lifestyle. There is also a chance that you attract the notice of the prominent person associated with your job. At the end of each week, make a DC 15 Charisma check. On a success, you earn the opportunity to request an audience with that person."
Given that they have already had audiences with all the important NPCs, this wouldnt make much sense in the campain.
Another way, determine if it was a Major or Minor Side Quest, if Minor, use appropriate Encounter Loot, if Major use appropriate Hoard Loot.
Lastly, maybe Minnie knew about the undead hate, and simply toyed that out there in front of the party to get something done GRATIS, she didn't actually offer payment for killing anything, just "locate the source" which doesn't sound like a very big payoff to me, maybe 50-100 gold in total, as in for the party not per character.

I am looking for suggestions :)
