As a DM, I would House rule that groups of 50 or greater move slower than RAW. Armies can not make the same time as small groups - not and stay together. Large groups of people run into log jams - a horse goes lame, there is a bridge that only one can cross at a time, someone gets lost and they have to find him.
Offhand, I would reduce their pace from 24 miles to 21 miles per day for 100 people. 1000 people I would probably cut it down to 16 miles per day.
Realistically, not that this has a lot to do with D&D, cavalry is a lot faster on the scale of a single day, but over multiple days it isn't. Per RAW, a horse is allowed to move double speed overland for one hour, which is a bit pessimistic.

How many miles would a group of about 100 knights on horseback travel in a day? How many miles would one messenger on horseback travel in a day?
Same RAW....which is the same as a person walking . 24 miles at normal pace. Travel pace is just travel pace

Unless they or their leader had special ability.
