I have a question. I have a player who insists on, when he has advantage/disadvantage, just re-rolling his die vs. rolling 2d20. Is there any real difference between the two options? Math isn't exactly my strong suit but if one over the other skews the math any one way or the other I'd like to now. Thoughts?

It is the same thing, rolling two dice or rerolling the one. With both methods, the result of one die is independent of the other (die or roll).
Cool. Thanks for the info.
