OK I know this has been asked in various ways a lot, specifically in terms of Dimension door and how you CANNOT use it to enter a tiny hut. However, I cannot find this specific instance and I was curious if it tracks the same as Dimension Door.
In curse of Strahd my players used the teleporter in castle Ravenloft and ended up in Tsolenka Pass. Strahd is at this point tormenting them and killing them one by one in front of Ireena to try and force her to submit to him of her own will.
The group decided to camp for the night after escaping and cast Leomund's Tiny Hut right where they appeared in the guard tower of Tsolenka Pass. They are now asleep. Essentially I just need to know if Strahd and his consorts used the teleporter to go to the same place the group did, would they appear inside Leomund's Tiny Hut, or would they get displaced just outside as they appear? The unique nature of this teleporter makes me unable to find opinions on the mechanics. My initial gut feeling is that it is still "casting teleport into the place inside the hut, therefore cannot happen". Thoughts?
"Any creature that enters the portal instantly appears within 5 feet of the destination circle or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied."
Can you provide a link for where it is said that Dimension Door can not be used to enter a Tiny Hut? I hadn't heard that before.
Ah, found a discussion about it. So Dimension Door couldn't get into Tiny Hut, but both Teleport and Teleportation Circlecan, as they don't actually target the destination space. So, Strahd is going to appear right inside of that hut and potentially become trapped.

Misty Step doesn't target a space either, it's range is self. By that logic, dimension door, a 4th level spell not go through it, but a 2nd level spell like misty step can?

RAW isn't perfect and doesn't always align with RAI.
As long as you understand what the book says, then you are encouraged to adapt the rules as appropriate for your table.

Misty Step requires vision of your target so it can't go through, but mostly this is inconsistent wording of different spells.

Tiny Hut blocks spells both ways though, so what if you tried to teleport out of tiny hut from within using Misty Step since the dome is transparent from the inside?

It is presumably a magical effect, whether or not it's a spell, so it's blocked. Until Strahd casts Dispel Magic, at least.
The Teleporter is effectively a Teleportation Circle:

are you able to link to the discussion about teleport and teleport circle? That is exactly what I was looking for. ;)
Also.. if you are in a Tiny hut with Strahd.... who is really trapped? =P
