I need a little help. I am in a campaign where our DM (She asked me to post this) has created a new form of magic. (We actually have two DMs, the other one is more experienced in creating spells and magic) and we need to create some NPCs that don't use contemporary magic. The main problem is figuring out what race to use and what class to use. We don't want them to have regular magic, instead we intend to replace the regular magic with the new magic. We've already introduced the magic to the players and they are in "training" to learn how to use it. (this is where the second DM comes in). I just need to help her create the sheets for these NPCs but she wants me to use a character generator for it. I'm just having trouble figuring out what races and classes are non-magical. They will only be using the new magic and not contemporary magic.
Well, we can't really help you unless you actually describe this "new magic". I don't think races matter, if anyone can use this new magic, not only non-magical races. Additionally, you wouldn't give a class to an NPC, you'd make a stat block for it. And when making a stat block, you don't need to give a rat's arse about what classes PCs are limited to.
Also, this whole thing is mighty confusing. You say you want to give these NPCs non-magical races and classes, yet they're still using magic. Why would a magic user, new or contemporary, be non-magical? That goes against the whole idea of the thing.
