I have an aspect of my campaign theology that the spirits of the dead leave for the lands of the dead from an ethereal border Island, inhabited by a local demi-god chief, and travel through the chaos sea to get to the lands of the dead in different plaines. There are islands in this sea.. and some times mortal travelers during ocean storms find themselves in the same sea for some limited time before their unnatural stability [unnatural there anyway] drops them back somewhere in their starting sea.
Picture a paired physics two (2) chaos particles whose variant random metrics are mirror images of each other, they resonate with each other 'close enough' that they become a semi stable particle.
This is what those islands are made of. But as they are semi stable they give of a chaotic affect on what is around them. In the chaos sea who cares, but if the material is brought home. Chaos surrounds what appears to be stable stone.
Thanks, and of course you can, I'm glad you liked it!
