I was putting together a homebrew item and it is only supposed to add a +2 bonus to insight. I put this in the modifier section. When my character attunes to it it adds a +6. Why?! Help?
What settings did you give the modifier?
If you just want a +2 to insight it should be (without me testing this is just off the top of my head):
Modifier Type: Bonus
Modifier Subtype: Insight
Fixed Value: 2
Leave everything else blank.
I imagine that you selected Wisdom for the Ability Score? If so - that adds the Wisdom to the bonus - as well as the fixed value of 2. So if your Wisdom modifier was 4 - it would total 6.
