Okay, so me and my DM have been discussing this weapon idea, but the logistics of one item of it are still more or less stopping me from making this weapon.
The weapon idea is 6 throwing knives, each shaped into a claw shape and each roughly 4-5 inches in length, they would be made out of Abyssal Blood iron as long as I could find the iron in our campaign if not then Baatorian Steel. I would have to find these metals myself of course in the campaign as I said. Each of the knives are connected by a 50 foot long spider thread and enchanted much like the Chain of Returning. My question is, what kind of thread, I was thinking a metal or spider silk thread, but I am unsure of how very, very thin metal threads would hold up or spider silk would hold up as well.
I want to make this weapon idea happen but, it's actually making it and getting the materials I want, so I am wondering if anyone has another idea for their construction or if what I have is fine.
Could use something like mithral as suggested above. I initially thought of phase spider silk, suggesting an etheral quality to it. Or a roper's tendril. Or make something up, ie: sapphire wire (gems streched into thin flexible strands by some mysterious magical or alchemical process jealously guarded by a group of gnomes)

For the thread/chain , what about mithril chains? It could be super difficult, but perhaps adamantine if you are really invested.
