Do I have a way to tell the system, "Grant this character proficiency in this skill if they don't already have it, but twice proficiency on checks if they already have it"? I want the feat to ignore the 'skill proficiency granting' part if the character already has the skill.
The only way I can think of to do something like that is to create two versions of the feat - one that grants proficiency and one that has proficiency as a prerequisite and grants expertise.
Sadly it doesn't seem that the options part on feats actually lets you set modifiers to each option individually to be included in calculations based on your choice.
