Hey guys, so I just wanted to double check on this real quick and make sure I didn't screw any of my players over with this, but I have a hombrew I'm creating, and in one of the possible avenues, they can go to this dead world. The story is that this world(made up of Giants, the higher class citizens, and humans, the lower class citizens), and this world had two gods who fed their magic system, the twins, Time and Age. Age is wisdom and patience, and all the positive aspects of time(not god, just the actuall passing of time), while Time( the actual god now) is greed and haste, and all the negative aspects. Time, however, is stronger than Age, and most chose to worship Time for the power they gained. The worship was mostly sacrifice of younger people to give the time they should have had to feed Time's endless appetite, but they always had to put safegaurds in place to prevent Time from breaking into the physical realm and wreaking distruction. One time in particular though, they were sacrificing a young man(as the good giant King Remoak had banned the sacrifice of unwilling vicitims) and they became lax in the ceremony, too eager to receive their power. They preformed the ceremony without the proper safeguards, and after they had ripped the heart from the young man's chest upon the crystal alter of Time, Time posessed the body of the sacrifice and went on a rampage, sucking out the time of everything that remained in the world and murdering his brother, Age. He didn't realise though, that he had consumed that which kept him alive, and so it happened that he's been starving for thousands of years. Receintly there have been a few adventurers that have wandered into the world though, and he managed to consume enough to gain some power back, and then this group ( seven level 3 players) wanders in and he is ravenous for their time. I thought I could treat the time he steals as hp he takes straight from them and I wanted this to be difficult but not impossible. Let me know if this is possibly workable though.
The emaciated god:Time
(War priest stats adjusted)
Armor Class:15
Hit Points:100
Speed: 30ft
STR DEX CON INT WIS CHA
16(+3) 10(+0) 14(+2) 11(+0) 17(+3) 13(+1)
Saving throws: Con +6, Wis +7
Skills: Intimidation +5, Religion +4
Senses: passive perception 13
Languages: Giant, Primordial, Common
Challenge, 9(ish?)
Spell casting:
cantrips: Friends,
Level 1(4 slots), Primordial Savagry( instead of acid damage, he steals the life and it is only 1d4), Command, Entangle( with ethreal manifestations of the lifes that he has consumed instead of plants)
Level 2( 2 slots) False life
Level 5, (1 slot) Soul cage(varient): 1 reaction when a being is hit by the cerimonial dagger, steal life (1d10 hitpoints)
Weapon: Cerimonial Dagger
Actions:
Multiattack: two melee attacks
Maul: Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5ft, one target
Hit, 10(2d6+3)bludgeoning damage
Steal Time: Upon grapling/restraining an opponant, you can use a bonus action to steal one hitpoint maintaining pysical contact
Reaction: Upon taking a hit that puts him at or below 0HP, he can use all his effort to pull back time and half the damage. He gets disadvantage on all attack rolls or Constitution saving throws after using this.
Some other abilities/modifications you can do is, when he steals time as life, you can actually lower down their maximum hit points, that way it has the same effect, but a much more severe form of it because you can't just heal that, and it will instantly make this villain feel different than probably any monsters that level 3 players have come across.
You could also increase the age of their character. In this way, the age the characters are matter for more than just appearance. If their age increases to outside of the range that their race normally survives, then they die of old age. That could also be interesting to see how your players deal with that.
Then you know, killing/stopping the God would reverse these effects.

I love the concept!
