I’m attempting to make a homebrew druid subclass and at this point the last step is to publish my current version. However, I’m being prevented from doing so with the message “This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels” even though I have features at 2nd, 6th, 10th, and 14th levels. I think the problem may be having two 2nd level features which I didn’t think would be a problem since Circle of the Moon did as well. Any help for this? I really don’t want to merge the two features to avoid making it one unnecessarily complex/dense feature.
The homebrew baseline requirements are based off of the baseline requirements for the subclasses presented in the Basic Rules. For druids, this is Circle of the Land, which is the only druid class to have a 3rd level feature (circle spells). So now all homebrew druid subclasses are required to have a 3rd level feature, even if just a dummy one that's invisible in the builder and sheet.
Although, that said, it's also worth pointing out that most folks don't recommend actually publishing your homebrew, since once it's published you can't edit it or delete it, only create a new version, which can get messy. You don't need to publish it to share it with others in a campaign, and you can post it in text form in the homebrew forum if you simply want feedback. Basically, you don't want to publish until it's a final final draft.
Thanks for the help. I never would have figured it out on my own. As for publishing it, I’ll probably wait until I get more feedback on it before publishing here.
