Long ago in my formative years of roleplaying a M.U.D. that I would dial into had a class of spell filcher. Essentially, it was a roguelike class that specialized as an antimage but also had spell casting abilities based on the magic stolen from magic users.
Thinking about it for 5e, it would basically be a subclass built entirely around a similar mechanic as the arcane tricksters "spell thief" capstone.
My question to the community, how would you go about scaling this out to create an entire subclass around the concept of stealing magic to fuel your own arcane abilities?
