I have created a homebrew race and as one of the traits I would like the player to know a cantrip from the Druid Spell list of their choice. I've created the racial trait, described it, but now I am unsure how to actually allow a player to choose their cantrip during character creation.
I have ran into a similar issue and was just looking in the forums for help. I have created a variant to a race, with added ability score modifiers, and I cannot seem to get them to be added in, automatically. I will continue to scroll, but check back here, in case you get an answer that helps the both of us.
Your problem should be solved by doing the following:
1. Create a Racial Trait. For example --> Ability Score Modifier. 2. Adding a modifier to that Racial Trait with the following choices: Modifier Type: Bonus Modifier Subtype: [____] Score (Exampe --> Constitution Score) Fixed Value: [x] (Example --> 2)
This would add an automatic plus 2 modifier to Constitution for the race. You could then add another modifier choosing different values or subtypes to create a race with multiple Ability Score Modifiers.

Create a Racial Trait and save it.
Scroll down to the end and, just below Modifiers/'Add a Modifier' is the Spells/'Add a Spell' button - click onto that.
On this screen, leave the first box ('spell') blank - this is for adding specific spells. Instead, select 'Cantrip' under Spell Levels, and select 'Druid' under Spell Class. You may also wish to add in an Ability Score that the cantrip could use, such as Wisdom. This will give the user a choice when in the character builder to select a druid cantrip of their choice that uses Wisdom as its spellcasting modifier if applicable.
Thank you I will have to test that out on my next race. I ended up modifying a race that already existed. However, my next question would be, is there a way to add a flying speed that will automatically be indicated in the speed "tab"? I had to manually add it and would like it to be automatic; this way I will feel more comfortable sharing the home-brewed variant.
When you first create your race above the section for description, there are options for size and walking speed. Additionally next to that there is a place for burrowing speed, swimming speed, and flying speed. Rather than leave all of these blank, add the flying speed you want to include.
You can edit any race you've made to add a Fly Speed. Even if it is a variant. When you select the race, select edit, click on the Basic Info area above the racial traits and it will expand to show all of the originally editable fields including name, size, speed, etc...

Is there anyone who can help with my issue though? Or is there an actual tutorial for race creation yet?

So this would be a build from scratch and not a variant that has been modified? Thank you for the information as well.
